Who you’ll be working for

EWS Recruitment are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Civil Surveyor to join our client’s dynamic team in Melbourne. The Civil Surveyor will play a crucial role in their operations by providing accurate surveying and measurement services to support their construction projects.

Role and Responsibilities

• Conduct precise land surveying and measurement activities on construction sites using advanced surveying equipment, including total stations, GPS, and laser scanners.
• Perform topographic surveys, boundary surveys, and as-built surveys to ensure accurate positioning and documentation of project sites.
• Prepare survey reports, plans, and drawings, detailing survey data, measurements, and other relevant information.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to interpret survey data and provide necessary inputs for project planning and design.
• Assist in establishing control points and benchmarks for construction projects, ensuring compliance with established standards and specifications.
• Monitor and maintain survey equipment, ensuring their calibration and proper functioning.
• Conduct regular site visits to assess surveying requirements, resolve any issues, and provide guidance to construction teams regarding survey-related matters.

Skills and requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
• Proven experience as a Project Engineer, specifically in greenfield and subdivision projects.
• Strong understanding of civil engineering principles and construction processes.
• Proficiency in project management software and tools.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
• Knowledge of local regulations and requirements related to greenfield and subdivision projects is preferred.
